2013 Red Carpet Grammy Awards Fashion Hits & Misses ~ Moxie Beauty Review ~ Celeb Fashion

Sunday during the 55th annual Grammy awards celebrities walked down the red carpet, and the fashion was all over the place! Though the dress code was 'Please don't show a lot of skin', it didn't deter a few.

This year red carpet fashion wasn't as eventful as some years past, though some gowns really stole the show.

55th Annual Grammy Awards Red Carpet
First Look: Rihanna
Rihanna looks absolutely amazing in her elegant red Alia gown. We're used to seeing Rihanna in alternative and sexy attire and wild hair styles but she really cleaned up beautifully for the awards show. Her hair in a natural color with soft curls, her matching lipstick, nailpolish and classy jewelry selection really shines. The vibrant color really flatters her skin tone. This is really a beautiful look on her!
_______
Adele

This year Adele chose to wear a floral Valentino dress, floral pumps and black bucket bag. Though the red and pinks go beautifully with her fair skin, we're not a big fan of this selection. We think this dress takes too much attention from her gorgeous face! We don't like this dress form on her either, it makes her bottom half look enormous. This style dress is best worn on someone who is looking to add curves to their appearance. We would have loved to see Adele accentuate her own curves instead. Her hair and makeup is as beautiful as ever.
_____________
Carrie Underwood

We love Carrie Underwood's stunning black strapless Roberto Cavalli gown but it's her necklace that really takes the cake. People magazine reported that Carrie's necklace is a Johnathon Arndt piece worth $31 million dollars! The necklace is made from 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise and round white diamonds, Wow. After all she is channeling old Hollywood glam and diamonds are a girls best friend! Later in the evening this gown was replaced with an extravagant light up LED display gown during her performance.

Carrie's LED Display Performance Dress
________
Taylor Swift

Miss Swift channeled a Goddess wearing a beautiful Grecian inspired white and silver embellished cutout gown by  J. Mendel. This backless dress was on the very edge of breaking the Grammy's Dress Code advisory with a plunging neckline and two front slits. Taylor said she wanted to channel Katniss from the Hunger Games with her romantic braided up-do and bangs. It's probable Taylor's exes are kicking themselves for letting this Gorgeous girl get away.
_____________
Beyonce

After Beyonce's super sexy Super Bowl ensemble, this black & white graphic crepe jumpsuit by Osman Studio was a bit unexpected. Though we don't think it's much of a head turner, or the ideal Grammy wardrobe, it's a very classy and dynamic way to followup her Super Bowl performance. She paired it with beautiful black heels, Art Deco bangles, a chic ponytail and bold red lips. She looks bright and fresh and we do think she nailed this look! Go B!
__________
Katy Perry

Katy Perry says she aimed to channel a 70's Priscilla Presley with her skin tight mint green Gucci that showed plenty of cleavage. We love her hair, her smile, the color of the dress and the adant-garde dress adornments. She looks absolutely beautiful but at the same time something seems to be off with this look. We can't quite put our finger on it. We love Katy and she definitely has one of the best Hollywood bodies! ;)
______
Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer is known for wearing some of the most iconic Grammy dresses of all time (remember that green Versace plunging bikini cover up?) This year the Glam star showed some major leg in an Anthony Vacarello look from the Spring Runway collection. We like her sleek bun and strapped heels. We do think she could have chosen something a little more vibrant and flattering but she wore this dress well.
___________
Kimbra

The up and coming Kiwi songstress Kimbra, (the female voice that debuts in 'Somebody That I Used to Know' top hit) wore a darling pearl-encrusted and light turquoise tulle dress designed by Perth.  "The pearls are sprinkled around the hem of the gown, slowing graduating up the dress and into the bodice which is covered in gold beads, crystals and more pearls, all which are hand sewn" says Perth dress designer Jamie Lee Major. This Fairytale like gown was inspired by the designers recent trip to Broome and the way the golden sunset shined onto the turquoise water. Though the dress looks lightweight Kimbra said the dress was very heavy from the weight of all the pearls. Her stunning smile, simple makeup, beautiful curls and unique dress is our favorite look of the night! Kimbra was beyond excited to be apart of the awards event and it's true that the happiest girls are the prettiest!
______
Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child definitely broke some rules this Grammy season with a jaw-dropping black cutout dress by Georges Chakra. Kelly's dress is very sexy and unique and strategically cut in all the right spots. We especially love the gathered bottom, however we're not a fan of her hairstyle with this look. Despite the dramatic skin baring dress she manages to still appear elegant. We know that Kelly is trying to make a comeback and this statement dress is one way, however we would have liked to see her standout in something a little more flashy in color and sparkle!
_________
Kelly Osbourne

Because Kelly Osbourne is a member of the Fashion Police we have huge expectations of her fashion selections! She seemed to play it safe with Paule Ka black cut out halter dress and Gold Purangaw jewelry.  Last year she sparkled and shined in her champange dress by Tony Ward. We're very disappointed in her selection this year. I hope the Fashion Police don't review her look! Next time Kelly, we expect you'll wear something extra special! :)

And the Moxie Beauty Award for the Best Two Looks this 2013 Grammys Goes To.......

Kimbra!

and Rihanna! Naturally.

Both stars looked Amazing!
